A meeting of utmost importance is planned for April 17th at 7:00p.m. at the Tuscumbia School Gym, located on Hwy 52  in Tuscumbia Mo.  This meeting will provide information dealing with the implementation of the USDA's  National Animal Identification System which will effect all livestock owners!!!  Learn WHO the proponents of NAIS are!!!!!  It might surprise you!!!!!!!!   Your own hard earned money is being used to implement this costly burden!!!!!!!!!

Requirements include all owners to obtain a 7 character code PREMISES ID NUMBER keyed to Global Positioning System coordinates, for any location that holds, manages or boards animals.  Every person that owns or manages a location where even one horse, chicken, cow, pig, goat, sheep, elk, bison or any other livestock, would be required to register their property in a government database.  Registration is done through the Mo. Dept. of Agriculture.

Learn why everyone should beware of obtaining this PREMISES ID NUMBER.

Animal ID.- all animals (29 species) must have an individual animal I.D. either by micro-chipping or radio tag in most cases, or otherwise physically tagged. All micro-chipped animals will have a 15 digit tracking number, unique to that animal.

Tracking   The owner must report within 24 hrs., from birth to death,  every time an animal enters or leaves the property for any reason, which would involve co-mingling of animals, 14 total different events, must be reported, each time, at a cost to the owner.  The burden of this NAIS will be upon the owners themselves, with NO EXCEPTIONS for size of premise or number of animals.

Premises registration and animal ID required. Tracking of all animal movements within 24 hours required to provide 48 hr. trace back.   The above summary items are taken from USDA's 2005 Draft Strategic Plan, Standards, Technical Supplement and the 2006 Implementation Strategies, and the Users Guidelines for Small Producers.  Specific documents in total are available at usda.gov/nais> or libertyark.net.

This meeting will cover what these rulings consist of and the impact they will have on everyone.   Speakers will include Ray Cunio, Bob Parker, and Russell Woods; all from the Ozark Property Rights Congress.  The Speakers will bring you up to date as to what is being done in the 2008 Missouri Legislature to prevent the MO. Dept. of Agriculture from further implementation of NAIS in our state.  Learn about 2008 MO. Senate Bill 931 Substitute which will succeed in stopping NAIS in Missouri if passed.   This Bill was introduced by 33rd. Dist. Senator Chuck Purgason. 153rd Dist Representative Mike Dethrow, has worked hard to get his Legislation HB1716 passed on the House side. They both need to be commended for their efforts and be given support from everyone to show their appreciation for their efforts to protect Private Property.   Much time and thought has gone into this Legislation with the goal of stopping NAIS in Missouri. This legislation will not in any manner interfere with anyone participating in any of the existing marketing or health programs.  What SB 931 does prevent is the USDA's oppressive NAIS program.  Also invited to the meeting will be proponents of NAIS which include USDA, MO. Dept of Ag., MO. Cattlemens Assoc. and the MO. Farm Bureau.

Learn WHO the proponents of NAIS are!!!!!  It may surprise you!!!!!!!!

Learn what YOU can do to help STOP NAIS in Missouri.   We need the support of all livestock owners that do not wish to have this abuse of power placed on them.  It is vital that everyone opposed to NAIS to take action  NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Let your feelings be heard loud and clear in Jefferson City and in Washington D.C.!!!!!!!!

WITHOUT      A      DOUBT       NAIS           WILL         AFFECT YOU
