Subject: [vfp-all] Be Very Careful in St. Augustine/St. Johns County!

St. Johns County Sheriff, David Shoar, recently gave out these t-shirts at an event billed as a discussion on homeless veterans. While no one has explained what the local sheriff's office considers "supporting the troops," the sniper image on the front would suggest that it doesn't have a lot to do with peace and justice. Some in this community have expressed concerns that the sheriff is advocating the killing of those who disagree with his political views. (The same paranoid people who thought the government was lying about WMDs in Iraq.)

In addition, on May 17th, Sgt. Michelle Perry, St. Augustine PD (and daughter of Sheriff Shoar's predecessor), told members of St. Augustine People for Peace and Justice that she will issue citations to any motorist who "honks for peace."

You have been warned!

See Joyce's Note to the Listeners & Supporters Below:

Dear Power Team Members and Supporters of The American Gulf War Veterans Association,

I spoke with Media Relations of the St. John's County Sheriff's office and confirmed the t-shirt is in fact, being sold by the Sheriff.

I am personally offended and feel this is
tatamount to limiting free speech. I support the veterans by exposing the fact they are poisoned with Depleted Uranium and dying of Gulf War Illness. I have been to numerous V.A. hospitals and met with veterans in about 30 plus states.

I will put my actions with anyone who is "allegedly supporting the troops." This is essentially the same as what Michael Reagan is saying regarding the killing of anyone who does not support the troops, including Mike Dice.
