With regards to funding for Gulf War health research, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) along with Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) and Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) -- all longtime advocates and allies for Gulf War veterans -- have authored S. Amdt. 2060 to the FY08 Military Construction Appropriations Act , which would provide $30 million in FY08 funding within DOD for Gulf War illnesses health research. Sen. Feingold announced his co-sponsorship in a public hearing in Milwaukee, Wis. on Jul. 9th. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) have both cosponsored the amendment.

What you can do: Contact your Senator *TODAY* and ask them to sign onto the Sanders amendment to the MilCon bill for Gulf War health research. ( Listing at http://www.senate.gov ).
